Create a site using Involv Site Deployer

In this article you'll learn how to create a new site using the Involv Site Deployer 

1. Prerequisites 

In order to be able to use the site deployer, following need to be available: 

  1. App registration of our site deployer consent to be given by your global admin. 

    If not yet done, have your global admin log into the Deployer and consent to the app registration there.

  2. SharePoint Admin role to be able to create a new sharepoint site 
    (To check if you have a SharePoint Administrator role, log in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and check if "SharePoint" appears under the "Admin centers" section in the left-hand menu. Alternatively, go to "Users" > "Active users," select your account, click "Manage roles" to view assigned administrative permissions)

  3. Make sure that the site url you would like to use is not yet in use

3. Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Launch Involv Site Deployer – Open the platform where you deploy Involv sites.

  2. Sign in – Click ‘Sign in’ to access the Involv Site Deployer.

  3. Start with a template – Click ‘Create template’ to base your new site on an existing Involv site.

  4. Enter the source site URL – Input the URL of the Involv site you want to use as a template.

  5. Provide your email – This ensures you receive the template XML file.

  6. Select template type – Choose ‘Involv site’ as the template type (this is the default).

  7. Create the template – Click ‘Create Template’ to generate and save your XML template.

  8. Start site provisioning – Click ‘Provision your new site’ to begin creating your site.

  9. Select site type – Pick either Communication site or Team site, depending on your needs.

  10. Choose site language – Select the language for your new SharePoint site.

  11. Upload the XML template – Use the template file you generated in step 7.

  12. Enter the new site URL – Specify the web address for your new site.

  13. Provide your email – Receive a notification once the deployment is complete.

  14. Provision your site – Click ‘Provision site’ to start the deployment process.

  15. Access your new site – Open the newly created Involv site or check your email for confirmation.
