Adding Web Parts & Components to Your Page
How to Create and Place Web Parts in Your Involv Intranet
Overview
Web parts are the building blocks of your intranet pages. They allow you to add dynamic content such as news, quick links, document libraries, and more. Follow the steps below to add and configure web parts on your page.
Step 1: Open the Page Editor

Navigate to the page where you want to add a web part.

Click the Edit Page button in the top-right corner.

The SharePoint page editor will open, allowing you to modify the layout and content of the page.
Step 2: Add a Web Part

Hover over the section where you'd like to place the web part.

Click the + button (Add a Web Part).

A panel will appear on the right, displaying a list of available web parts and components.
Step 3: Choose and Configure Your Web Part

Select the desired web part (e.g., News, Who is Who, Quick Links, Document Library, etc.).

Once inserted, click on the web part to open the settings panel.

Configure options such as:

Content source

Display style
-
Filtering or audience targeting

Step 4: Save or Publish Your Changes

Click Save as Draft to save your progress without publishing.

Click Publish to make the changes live and visible to all users.
Example
In this example, we add two commonly used components:

A News web part to keep employees informed
-
A Who is Who component to improve internal visibility and collaboration
Additional Tips

Use columns to create a structured, easy-to-read page layout.

Some components support dynamic filtering based on user roles or departments.

If a web part fails to load, verify your permissions or contact your intranet administrator.
