How to create an event category?

1. Overview

Event categories and department columns help you structure and filter events across your intranet.
In the Involv Manager, you can define which categories are available (e.g. Training, Town Hall, Social) and which departments are used to classify events.

This guide shows you how to access the event settings, create a new event category and configure the department column.

4. Step-by-step instructions

Step 1 — Open Involv Manager

Click the Involv Manager icon to open administrative controls and settings.

Step 2 — Go to Manage Content

In the left sidebar, click Manage Content to open content-related configuration options.

Step 3 — Open Events configuration

From the content list, click Events to access company event settings and calendar configuration.

Step 4 — Add an event category

Click Add an Event category to create a new classification for your events
(e.g. Training, Internal Meeting, Company Event).

Step 5 — Confirm creation

Click Add to create and add the new event category to the list.

Step 6 — Add a department entry for events

In the Department column configuration, click Add to create a new department entry.

Step 7 — Name the department

Enter the department name in the text field (for example: HR, Sales, IT).

Step 8 — Save department configuration

Click Save to apply your changes and update the available department options for events.

Your event categories and department entries are now ready to be used when creating or editing events.
