How to enable & create a global footer

This guide explains how to create and manage a global footer on your Involv intranet using the InvolvFooter app and a custom footer.html file stored in Site Assets.

1. Overview

A global footer helps you provide consistent information across your entire intranet, such as legal links, contact details, or corporate branding. In Involv, footers are managed centrally through the Involv Manager and stored in SharePoint Site Assets.
This guide explains how to add the Involv Footer app, configure footer settings, and manage the footer HTML file.

4. Configure the global footer in Involv

Start by enabling edit mode on your intranet page. Once editing is active, add a new app to the page and select the Involv Footer app. This app is responsible for rendering the global footer across the intranet.

After adding the app, open the Involv Manager panel from the left side. Navigate to Admin Configuration, then open General settings and select Footer. This section contains all configuration options related to the global footer.

From here, use the option to open the Footer folder in Site Assets. This folder stores the HTML file that defines the footer content.

5. Manage footer files in Site Assets

Inside the Footer folder, add a footer.html file by dragging and dropping it into the folder. If no file exists yet, you can create an empty footer.html file and start editing from scratch.

Use the file’s More actions menu to preview the file before editing. When you are ready to make changes, open the file in the text editor. This allows you to modify the HTML that controls the layout and content of the footer.

After making your changes, close the editor. Once saved, the footer will be applied to your intranet automatically.

6. Result

Your global footer is now successfully added and managed through Involv. Any updates to the footer.html file in Site Assets will immediately affect the footer across your intranet, ensuring consistency and easy maintenance.
